President Trump: 'Many People Died' In Fight Between U.S. And Russia Troops In Syria

Newsweek: Trump Says 'Many People Died' In Fight Between U.S. And Russia Troops In Syria

President Donald Trump said Wednesday a fight between the U.S. and Russia in Syria produced scores of casualties, apparently referring to a Pentagon-led strike on pro-Syrian government fighters in February.

Am I seriously reading this right...

Is Trump actually using the deaths of Russian fighters to make it clear that he's 'tough' on Russia?

Is Trump giving himself a pat on the back and saying "For those who say I'm not tough on Russia, well, here's a reminder: we killed a good score of them!"

WNU Editor, you say that's not playing well in Russia... I'd say this wouldn't play well anywhere, let alone Russia.

Trump wants to get this to peace negotiations with the current areas of control. He will not allow Putin to push the envelope any further without paying a price.

But, what is Trump telling Putin? Perhaps "don't pay any attention to what I am saying. It is only BS to get people thinking about something other than sending me to jail. I really don't mean any of it, buddy."
