Sweden Issues Pamphlets To All Homes On What To Do In The Event Of War

Yahoo News: Sweden distributes 4.7 million leaflets on how to prepare for war with Russia

Sweden is reportedly preparing to issue a public information manual on the best way to deal with the prospect of war, as talk rages over an apparent rise in the rest from Russia.

The brochure, which will be sent to 4.7 million households, will tell the public how they can take part in ‘total defence’ during a war and secure food, water and heating.

It is titled ‘If Crisis or War Comes’ and will also provide expert guidance on the best way to deal with threats from cyber attacks, climate change and terrorism.

The brochures comes after Russia’s annexation of Crimea and continued support for Ukrainian separatists, which has sparked deep concerns within Sweden.

Urban centers in Sweden have become very dangerous places. And Sweden's police systems are not designed to handle these problems.

Sweden is getting invaded alright...but it's not by Russia. Does IKEA make fallout shelters?

Some in the "west" seem to have gone pathologically insane. Russia is not a problem for the "west" except where the "west" has gone out of its way to antagonize Russia and create this problem.

I'll bet Russia could provide good intel on the gangs that are the problem and they'd be willing to do so for a reasonable price such as stop antagonizing and/or supporting those who are. N

Note to the Swedes, Russia is a major military power armed with thousands of nuclear weapons and the only thing separating you from them is tiny Finland who is about as tiny as you. Russia could invade you and conquer you before you even knew it hapoened. Fortunately for you they are not interested in doing that. Keep antagonizing them and/or supporting those who are and that might change.

The "eest" has been a major influence for a long time. The countries who comprise the "west" have major problems. Ignoring these to create problems with Russia hardly seems to be sound strategic thinking.

Finland has been a nightmare for Russia to subdue in past outings, and Sweden's military and training whilst moderate in size is very professional.
Russia is suffering economically and has no stomach for a conventional war against 2 goes that would big and wear them down and turn into a partisan nightmare.

What I am implying, Aizino, is that politicans say whatever outragous things just to get votes or to shift focus from other things and make headlines. Especially on a election year.

Our PM now has taken back that statement. But now its "out there", its called tactics.

Fazman,

As I recall, Finland has proved a nightmare for Russia in the past. I think the last time was WW2. During WW2 the "west" had stronger military capabilities relative speaking than they do now. The "west" has allowed its military capabilities to degrade in recent years. Russia has not hence, in my judgement, Finland and Sweden or either of them would be easily beaten by Russia. Maybe I'm mistaken. The only way to "know" the outcome of a war is to actually fight it.

I think we are in agreement that Russia has other issues and does not want a war with Sweden. It'd be best for Sweden to keep it that way. There may be a time and a place where it'd be needed but to provoke it seems rather foolish.

Aizino,

Spot on, couldn't have put this any better myself. Might the "leftists" know they messed up and don't want to suffer at the polls? There solution: trot out the Russian foreign devil. This seems rather foolish. It would seem smarter to pick as a foregin devil someone who couldn't actually hurt you and could be made out to be a vilian with little actual risk to oneself.

Picking the Russians for this role seems unwise. Then again the Greeks said whomever the gods wish to destroy they first make crazy. To express in today's language, perhaps whom God wishes to destroy he first makes insane.

It would actually be a good idea for any country to prepare for war with a multitude of contingencies that might well include Russia. As has been said, if you want oeace prepare for war, however, to single out Russia right now when Russia has no interst in doing so nor is it even on their radaepr UNLESS you continue to antagonize them and if it is on their radar it is ONLY because you've gone out of your way to antagonize them.

Mr. Persson is spot on. Maybe Swedish politicians are not much different from some US politicians. A myth of Russian "interference" and "collusion" in the US election was perpetuated first by a sore loser during the campaign when she realized it wasn't going as she hoped, amplified by a media echo chamber, and the worst part about it is these crazies undermined and possibly destroyed a careful diplomatic process that might have led to the end of Cold War 2 or at least a lessening of tensions.

BPoster you russian troll "Russia is not a problem for the "west". Are you kidding me? Just last week nuclear russian bombers had to be escorted away from near UK airspace. Russia invaded Georgia. Russia invaded Ukraine. Russia backs the murderer Assad. Russia backs the mass-murderer Kim Jong-Un. Russia hacked UK, Germany, US and tried to meddle in elections. Stop it you troll

Anon,

The accusations of Russian meddling in the US elections hasn't been proven. A bit like Iraqi WMD, "just trust us." Don't think so!! Must prove accusations.

"Just last week Russian bombers had to be escorted away from near UK airspace." I know. The editor reported on this. NATO planes are constantly doing the same things. Perhaps it'd be a good idea for the "west" to stop the provocations. In any event, this isn't as simple as you try to make it.

"Russia invaded Georgia," in response to repeated provocations against Russians that Russia would suggest with some evidence was encouraged by the "west." Again, this is not as simple as you try to make it.

"Russia invaded Ukraine," in response to a coup that was likely supported by "western" leaders in support of a new government that is hostile to Russia. By failing to denounce the coup and making statenents and carrying out actions that would appear to support the coup could and likely would be construed as active support for the coup. At the time we jumped into this, I pointed out that was arguably the dumbest move ever made by a major world power. Essentually we alienate Russia and get nothing of value for it. We get a cortupt, chump "ally" who cintributes nothing of value to us and comes with huge Costs. The editor has documented the corruption of the Ukrainian government many times. Others have documented possible Nazi ties. At best, our government leaped into something without bothering to get any knowledge on just who we were aupporting. The alternatives are worse.

"Russia backs the murderer Assad," our "allies" are a combination of Al Qaeda/ISIS. With the possible exception of the Kurds there are no "good guys" in this one and we are not in any position to be able to be the guarantor of a Kurdish state. We had no interest in this fight and as I patiently explained back in 2011 Assad was nit going to fall Russia would not allow it. While I can only engage in educated speculation as to what would have happened had we stayed out of it, very likely Assad wins quickly meaning the Russians and Iranians don't become as heavily involved meaning the Iranians, Syrians, and Russians are less battle hardened and very possibly not at Israel's doorstep.

"Russia backs the mass murder Kim Jong-un," yes, as part of what they deem their strategic interests. We've done the same. As the Buddha said, "point a finger at someone, three point back at you. As someone else said, "those in glass houses should not throw stones." In any event, this support may be ending soon as heavy sanctions are looming over North Korea.

Let's say Russia really did try to meddle in the elections of the countries you mention. After endless "color revolutions" in Russia's near abroad in support of governments hostile to Russia and endless actions of NGOs trying to undermine and overthrow the Russian government that the "west" appears to support some manner of blowback would be expected or at least one shouldn't be surprised.

With regards to Ukraine and Georgia part of the agreement to end Cold War 1 very likely included an agreement not to expand NATO into former Soviet Republics. Such expansion has no upsides and carries huge downside risks and after some heated rhetoric Ronald Reagan needed to save face, hence the agreement wasn't in writing. At the time, I'm sure no one actually believed future American leaders would actually be that stupid!!

"Stop it you Russian troll." I am an American. I do not agree with the current policies toward Russia. I am NOT saying they are good guys. We do want them to change behavior. The current methods we are using aren't likely to work. You don't have good arguments you resort to insulting me. Now, if you want to fight Russia, STRAP IT ON!! Ukraine and Poland are looking for some cannon fodder.

No one in Sweden is concerned with Russia. We are much more worried about the invasion that has already taken place with the rapefuge crisis

"Our PM now has taken back that statement. But now its "out there", its called tactics."

I do not see the Russian invading Sweden. The Baltic state maybe, but not Sweden.

It might be good tactics. For every one who thinks it is ludicrous and vote against the fraud, 2 or 3 might be gullible to vote for the fraud.

Putin might want to reconstitute a state on the boundaries of the old Soviet Union. He has said so in so many words. But there are so many steps between now and if Putin makes it happy that the PM is dog whistling to an idiot and/or Leftist class of voters.

Meanwhile there is a clear and present danger in to Sweden from immigration that the PM helped create.

They say that Sweden will be 30% Muslim by 2050. The Sharia zones will be quite large by then. Nothing like this has happened since the Sea People and the fall of the Egyptians to the Hyksos or Migration Period. It takes a special kind of stupid to be that political avaricious and militarily naive.
