Civilian deaths, a keystone metric of the last war in Iraq, has now become the statistic no one wants to talk about.
WNU Editor: A few days ago I posted links on reports from U.S. officials that the U.S. air campaign has killed 6,000 Islamic fighters and half of their leadership .... U.S. Ambassador to Iraq: U.S. Led Air Strikes Has Killed 6,000 Islamic State Fighters. As regular readers to this blog pointed out .... such stats are hard to believe ... and they are right. Nancy A. Youssef's analysis is also correct .... and she is also right that we will probably never know the true number.

For me, it's not the fact that it's hidden or may never been known, even though we all know the numbers will be high.
It's the complete and utter hypocrisy of the world that was clearly demonstrated in the last conflict (and all the others), initiated by Hamas with rocket fire on Israeli civilian population centres and abduction of three teenagers which led to Operation Protective Edge this last Summer in Israel.
When Israelis defend themselves from the non-stop rocket attacks and terror tunnels, the world goes mad. Anybody else gets a free pass when it comes to offensive or defensive conflicts - civilian collateral deaths just don't feature in the news reporting.
Israel gets accused of deliberately targeting civilians. The numbers are cited directly from Hamas, aka 'The Gaza Health Ministry' and the media only shows civilian deaths or injuries - did anyone see a dead Hamas fighter in all of the coverage??? No, don't be silly, it does not suit the preferred narrative of the conflict...
The stats from protective edge following extensive research into all the names listed from the Gaza Health Ministry is pretty much down to 1:1 now, which is unheard of from any other conflict, and once they get through the entire list I wouldn't be surprised if they manage to decrease the ratio further to 'mostly terrorists' killed...

I get the English version of the site, but I'm having trouble with it and your link. It seems to be about the recent change of command on your northern front and of Hizbollah activity across the border. There also seems to be a debate going on whether there are tunnels or not.
