Satellite images have captured scenes of destruction in Kobane as sustained American airstrikes and four weeks of intense fighting between Kurdish resistance fighters and Islamic State militants take their toll on the besieged Syrian city.

The before and after images show how in just one month hundreds of buildings have been levelled and a large number of roads rendered completely impassable by huge craters and mountains of rubble created since ISIS militants first attempted to capture the Kurdish city in mid-September.

My Comment: After weeks of intense bombing .... I am actually surprised that a number of buildings are still standing.
